Racers drop opening contest at Saint Louis

The Murray State men’s basketball team traveled to Saint Louis to kick off their 2022-23 season, ultimately falling 91-68. Murray trailed 44-29 at the half and despite several scoring spurts in the second half, couldn’t pull out the season opening win. Jamari Smith led the Racers with 21 points, Gibson Jimerson had 20, Javon Pickett had a double-double with 13 points along with 13 rebounds and Jake Forrester had 11 points and seven rebounds. The Racers will be back in action at home on Saturday, November 12 when they host Lindsey Wilson at 7 p.m.
