Morant on SLAM again

For the second time in his career, and the first during his NBA rookie campaign, former Murray State Racers point guard Ja Morant is set to be the cover of SLAM Magazine. Announced on social media Monday, the Dalzell, South Carolinian is averaging 17.6 points, 6.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds after 59 games, shooting 49.1% from the floor, 36.7% from the arc and 77.1% from the stripe for the 8th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. In the 10 games leading up to the suspension of the 2019-20 NBA season (due to COVID-19 concerns), Morant was motoring: averaging a robust 40.6% shooting from the arc and a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Recent discussions within NBA circles note that play may not resume until early summer, following CDC recommendations of specific quarantines for the next eight weeks.
