WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Four members of the Kentucky Lake Ski Nuts excelled with their performance at the National Water Ski Championships this past week at the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches at the Lake Okeheelee Water Ski Complex.

Carl Marquess, of Paducah, had his best-ever finish in a national championship, finishing second out of 23 skiers in Men 6 tricks. He also qualified for and competed in Men 6 slalom.

Pat Coomes, of Owensboro, finished fifth overall in Men 7; highlighted by a third in jumping.

Errol Bryant, of Beechmont, also took fifth overall in Men 9 with a third in tricks and a fourth in slalom.

Austin Collins, of Murray, skied in the highly competitive Boys 3 division and qualified for the USAWS Elite Junior Team. He also received an invitation to compete in the highly prestigious Malibu Open in late August.
