The Memphis Grizzlies are inviting "Grizz Nation" to celebrate the start of the 2019-20 NBA season at several fan-friendly Grizzlies-themed events throughout the Mid-South, including the fan-favorite Open Practice on Saturday, Oct. 5, and multiple festivities in Memphis and surrounding areas.

The Grizzlies will tip-off events with the Memphis Redbirds at their annual Grizzlies Night at AutoZone Park on Thursday, Aug. 22. The Redbirds will be sporting a limited edition "teal" throwback jersey as a part of the Grizzlies' 25th Season of the Franchise celebration.

In addition, the jerseys will be auctioned off following the game. Fans can also expect a special appearance by the Grizzlies' 2019 second overall draft pick and former Murray State Racer Ja Morant and various Grizzlies Entertainment squads.

The team's Regional Caravan Tour will make its first of eight stops in Murray, Kentucky, where Morant will return to Murray State on Friday, Aug. 23. Morant will visit his former campus and make several surprise appearances throughout the day.

Also as part of the Grizzlies regional caravan, the team is offering free Youth Basketball Clinics presented by Nike throughout the region, where young athletes will have the chance to receive training from the Grizzlies Youth Basketball staff comprised of current and former college players and coaches, referees and other professionals. Boys and girls interested in attending a Youth Basketball Clinic are encouraged to pre-register at grizzlies.com/youthbasketball.

Before heading into preseason games, the team will host their annual Open Practice on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Memphis University School (6191 Park Ave.) from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

This full-team practice will give Grizzlies fans a first look at the 2019-20 squad including fan favorites Jaren Jackson Jr., Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Anderson and Dillon Brooks, plus newcomers in Morant, Brandon Clarke, Grayson Allen, Tyus Jones, Jae Crowder and more.

Led by Head Coach Taylor Jenkins, the Open Practice will also include entertainment from the Grizz Girls, Claw Crew and others, plus fan giveaways.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to MUS as the Grizzlies will hold a Fan Fest with inflatables, activities and music beginning at 11:30 a.m. Both the Fan Fest and Open Practice are free to the general public. Doors for open practice will open at 1 p.m.

Fans who register for Grizzlies E-News upon entry will receive a game voucher good for one pre-season game this October.
