McCracken County fell into a trap game Saturday in its 54-48 loss to Mount Vernon (Illinois) at Strawberry Hills Pharmacy Arena in the fourth of four games in the Save A Life Shootout, in memory of former Mustangs point guard Kam Chumbler, who died in 2015.

A night removed from a dramatic come-from-behind win at Marshall County, the Mustangs (3-2) were often stagnant offensively.

"We just didn't make shots," McCracken coach Burlin Brower said. "Noah (point guard Noah Dumas) made some big buckets for us, but we (as a team) just didn't make shots."

Dumas led the Mustangs with 22 points. Jackson Sivills added 15.
