MAYFIELD -- The Mayfield Lady Cardinals advanced to the semifinal round of the First Region All "A" Classic following a 62-20 win over Community Christian Academy on Tuesday night.

Mayfield was led in scoring by Kyler Henson who had 11 points.

An early 25-6 lead after one quarter of play allowed the Lady Cardinals to get multiple bench players involved early on. Chloe Williams scored seven points and Kiya Morris added six to help propel Mayfield into the semifinals on Thursday evening.

Alaya Murphy led the Lady Warriors with eight points.

Looking ahead to the semifinals against Hickman County, Mayfield head coach Brad Nanney says his main concern is getting his team dialed in with a game plan.

"We've seen the film and know from the past they have a lot of size and guards like (Justice) Midgett, who shoots the ball really well. They're one of those dual threats that makes it tough to defend because you're either going to stop the ball inside or the 3-point shooters on the outside, so we need to make sure we get our game plan in so we know how we're going to attack on Thursday."

Mayfield will take on Hickman County at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Mayfield High School.
