DeEric Hollowell has had some breakout games this season for Caldwell County.

The most recent, a 22-carry, 292-yard, four-touchdown night to help the Tigers (8-2, 3-1 Class 2A District 1) stave off Trigg County, 56-54, has earned the senior this week’s nod as the WoodmenLife Player of the Week, the final top player of the 2019 season.

Hollowell re-entered the scene last year for Caldwell, under late-longtime Tigers skipper David Barnes, running for 896 yards and eight touchdowns, to go with 200 receiving yards and three scores in a pass-heavy offense led by now-Murray State reserve quarterback Joby Jaggers.

This season, Hollowell has surpassed that, amassing 1,203 rushing yards and 22 successful trips to the end zone on the ground, as well as 162 yards and three receiving touchdowns from first-year quarterback Russ Beshear.

Caldwell hosts Murray this week in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
