Paducah took advantage of some mid-game miscues by Dubois County to score five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on its way to an 8-4 victory Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium.
The win kept the Chiefs (6-2) atop the Ohio Valley League Western Division.
The Bombers were up 4-3 going into that bottom of the fifth, but the Chiefs tied it on a sacrifice fly by Alan Roden and took the lead for good with an RBI single from Carson Shacklett. Paducah would get its other runs that inning on an error in right field that scored two on a Drew Hudson at-bat and a wild pitch bringing the final run across.
Lofton Pigg gave the Chiefs an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the first inning. Sawyer Smallwood fanned five Dubois batters in the fifth through seventh innings to earn the win.
