Three days removed from a 45-35 loss to McCracken County, Mayfield was ousted as Class 2A’s top team, dropping to No. 3 in this week’s high school football poll, as selected by statewide sports writers.

For its part, McCracken (2-2), was left just outside the top 10 in Class 6A.

In Class 2A, Caldwell County (3-1, No. 5) and  Murray (3-1, No. 7) stood pat from last week’s spots.

In Class 3A, Paducah Tilghman (3-1) — which dropped from No. 5 to No. 10 last week — moved up a spot to No. 9, while Trigg County (4-0) moved up one spot to No. 8.
