The community needs to thank the Paducah Chiefs baseball team for another exciting and enjoyable season.

General Manager Greg McKeel, Coach Joe Hall and his staff and the amazing young athletes who made up the team are to be commended. Likewise, Kyte Martin who faithfully prepared the hamburgers and hot dogs over a steaming grill each night and the girls who worked the concession stand with consistent smiles on their faces despite the large number of fans wanting to be served.

Going to a Chiefs game this year was like stepping into a wonderful time capsule of the way things used to be in our country -- the community supporting a group of college athletes who were playing for the love of the game, not fame and selfish fortune.

When you think about attending a baseball game next summer, please keep the Chiefs in mind who are just down the road from your home and at a very affordable price for the entire family. Go Chiefs.
