EDITOR:

You recently printed an article about the Jefferson County Attorney publicly announcing that he was single-handedly decriminalizing marijuana possession in his jurisdiction. This individual must immediately be prosecuted by the Kentucky attorney general for dereliction of his duties.

Our media must hold the attorney general accountable for whether or not he will sit by while local prosecutors decide that they will ignore state drug possession laws. If he fails to act, it is an indication that Andy Beshear would find it acceptable to pursue extra-constitutional paths to drug legalization if elected governor, and that should be something voters should consider in the upcoming election.
