I keep hearing on our TV station that Matt Bevin has been polled as the "most unpopular governor in the U.S." I do not recall seeing a newspaper report on this, so I did a search and found that it was in the Cincinnati Enquirer a few weeks ago. The article referenced the source as the "Morning Consult," a non-partisan polling firm based in Washington, D.C. I then looked at the Morning Consult's website and learned that they have "media partners like The New York Times, Bloomberg, and Politico." Enough said? Of course, polls can be inaccurate and it was polls that said Hillary would win.

Thanks to Matt Bevin, I registered as a Republican so I could have a say in the U.S. Senate race. No, I don't personally know Bevin, but at the time I was very upset with our consummate politician, Sen. Mitch McConnell. I was able to support Bevin in the last governor's race and I will do so again.

Gov. Bevin is under attack just like President Trump. In fact, there are some similarities between the two. Both know business and are very successful in what they do. Our government needs that. Bevin has made some very tough calls that left him in disfavor with teachers. He is trying to fix the pension system and is running into opposition at every turn. Of course, Andy Beshear has hampered him all the way. Teachers, wake up; we need Gov. Matt Bevin and others like him.

I encourage everyone to look at what Bevin has accomplished for the commonwealth. He is not the usual politician and he walks the talk, a rare thing in our society.
