A lot of people forget that our elected officials are people, too. And while I agree that there are some in Kentucky who have done things that brook no forgiveness, it is important to remember that this is the exception, not the rule.

Attacking people, members of our community who are doing their best to serve, not by citing their positions, or their past behavior, but by making baseless, cruel accusations based on nothing but the fact that they cannot be disproven is wrong, and should not be tolerated.

These people put themselves forward, willingly walking into the meat grinder that is public life, and they deserve at the very least that our criticism be based on reality and their actual decisions. Not smears based on nothing but our own imaginations.
