Mae Ellen Tolbert Simmons


Mae Ellen Tolbert Simmons, 81, of Paducah, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a retired cook on towboats for Marquette Transportation for 21 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Paducah.

Survivors include one son, David Simmons and wife, Beth Ann, of Paducah; one daughter, Tonjua Miles Yopp, of Paducah; one brother, Otis "Skinner" Tolbert and wife, Denise, of Unionville, Illinois; one sister, Lyla Hayden, of Paducah; four grandchildren, Evan Yopp and wife, Grace, Jeran Simmons, Joshua Yopp and wife, Brittany, and Shanden Simmons; and three great-grandchildren, Logan Leith, Miles Yopp, and Landyn Yopp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Mildred Culp Tolbert; and one brother, Tom Tolbert.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Keeling and Goodman Funeral Home, 2410 Jackson St., Paducah, KY with Pastor Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Clark's River Cemetery in Symsonia.

Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home in Paducah is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Keeling and Goodman Funeral Home.
