Lynn Boyd Jones, 71, Mayor of the City of Calvert City, KY, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He served 8 years as councilman for Calvert City and was elected mayor in 1998, serving for 22 years in office being the second longest in the city’s history.

He had a career in banking and retired in 2019 after many years of service as administrator of the Calvert City Convalescent Center.

He was a founding member of Pathway Baptist Church..

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy (Wallace) Jones; one son, Todd Jones of Carolina Beach, NC; one daughter, Shannon (Archie) Anglin of Tiline; three brothers, Craig Jones, and Tom and Doug Jones, both of Calvert City; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Sarah Jones and one sister, Cheryl Jones. His parents were Herman B. “H.B.” and Sarah Smith Jones.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 at Pathway Baptist Church, 229 West Fifth Avenue, Calvert City. Mike Donald and Gregory Northcutt will officiate with interment to follow in Calvert City Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the church.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Pathway Baptist Church Building Fund, 229 West Fifth Avenue, Calvert City, KY 42029 or to Gideons International, Marshall County Camp, P. O. Box 206, Benton, KY 42025-0206.
