James C Massey, 88, died on Friday, June 7 2019, at his home in Paducah with members of his family in attendance. Mr. Massey was a retired locomotive engineer for the Illinois Central Gulf railroad and was a steam locomotive buff. He loved children, Cubs baseball and steam locomotives and was raised in the Highpoint Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his children, Delee Massey, Jay Massey, Krista Massey, Nathan Hopwood, Rebecca Scott, Connie Booher, Deanna Booher and Deneen Dixon. He also leaves behind siblings, Butch Massey, Ruby Prince, Evelyn Trichel and Louise Harris; as well as 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Massey and Opal Massey (Clemens); a child, Isaac Massey; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a service immediately following at 1 p.m. Rev. Randy Hines will officiate. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah.

Donations to Mercy Heath-Lourdes' Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center are gratefully appreciated. Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
