CALVERT CITY -- Evelyn Jones, 91, of Calvert City, died Thursday, July 11, 2019, at her home.

She was retired from the barge industry in which she worked as a cook, and she previously worked for the chair factory and shoe factory in Paducah. She was a member of the DAV, American Legion, Goldstar Wives, and Eastern Star. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are sons Perry Jones of Andalusia, Alabama and Charles D. Jones of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sisters Maggie Filbeck of Benton and Shirley Ann Stevenson of Paris, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son Michael E. Jones; three brothers; and two sisters. Her parents were Ona Mullinax and Lillian Smith Mullinax.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Collier Funeral Chapel, 211 W. Fifth St., in Benton, with Rev. Edgar Lee Paschall officiating. Interment will follow in Mullinax Cemetery in Calvert City.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019.
