Where were you when the Twin Towers were attacked?

Howard Moss, Paducah

“I was working at Tilghman High School (as the chief juvenile officer), and one of the faculty members asked me if I had heard about the attack. I immediately went back to the break room and they had a TV on. The first (plane) had already hit. I thought maybe it was an accident, and then the next one hit ... and I knew.

“It kind of made me mad and also a little fearful for myself and the kids at school. It was a real uneasy feeling. You just didn’t know how people were going to react. I knew parents were really going to be upset that their kids were in school and not being able to get to them to make sure they were okay.”
