Kentucky State Police on Tuesday identified the Calloway County sheriff’s deputy who was killed in a shooting Monday at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy Jody Cash, shown being escorted to the Medical Examiner’s office in Madisonville on Tuesday by a convoy of law enforcement vehicles. In a press release, Calloway County Sheriff Nicky Knight paid tribute to Cash, a veteran of several law enforcement agencies including KSP, and noted that his “compassion, caring and loving personality shined bright.” Knight said Cash “always held true to the Kentucky State Police motto of ‘Service above Self.’ ”
