Woman charged with drug offenses following welfare check Tuesday

McCracken County deputies arrested a Paducah woman Tuesday on drug charges after responding to a welfare check.

According to the incident report, at 12:22 p.m., deputies went to a home in the 2200 block of Sunset Drive, where they contacted Christal Ylitalo, 50, of Paducah. She was found to have an active warrant for a probation violation.

Deputies found that Ylitalo had about 5 grams of methamphetamine and U.S. currency believed to be proceeds of illegal narcotics sales.

She was arrested and brought to the McCracken County Regional Jail, where she is being held on a $1,000 cash bond. She was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense, less than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and violation of probation for a felony offense.
