A suspect in a Friday morning robbery in Murray was arrested later in the day.

The Murray Police Department responded at about 10 a.m. to a report of an attempted robbery in the parking lot of a business on North 12th Street.

According to the incident report, the victims were inside their car when a someone got into the car through the back door. The man pulled out a handgun and demanded that they give him “everything they’ve got.� One victim was able to run away and was able to have someone call for the police.

The suspect also ran from the area before officers arrived. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Montrell Williams, 22, of Murray.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Williams, and he was found the same afternoon and taken into custody for the charge of first-degree robbery. He was brought to the Calloway County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
