A Kevil woman was seriously injured after her vehicle ran off the road near U.S. 60 and into a home, injuring two residents who were asleep at the time, McCracken County Sheriff's deputies said.
Corporal Jeremy Renfrow said Rosa L. Overby, 69, was driving her Kia passenger vehicle south on County Line Road, near its intersection with U.S. 60 shortly before 11:30 p.m Sunday.
She lost control of the vehicle, which traveled across U.S. 60 and left the roadway.
The vehicle struck the bedroom of a house where Houston Winters and his wife Britana were sleeping.
The force of the crash threw the couple from their home, as the car drove through the rear wall of the building, Renfrow said.
The two residents were treated at a local hospital for non-incapacitating injuries, while Overby, whose injuries were described as incapacitating, had to be extracted from her vehicle before being hospitalized.
The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office, Ballard EMS and Rescue, Kevil and La Center fire departments and BA’s Towing assisted the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
