A single-vehicle crash Sunday morning left one West Paducah man in the hospital.

McCracken County Sheriff's deputies responded to the wreck around 11:30 a.m. where they found that the vehicle of Leon Elrod, 80, had overturned on Woodville Road.

His vehicle left the north side of the roadway while traveling west for unknown reasons before striking a concrete culvert, deputies reported. His vehicle then slid across the road, striking a mailbox, before coming to a stop, deputies said.

Elrod was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The West McCracken Volunteer Fire Department, Jason's Collision, Mercy Ambulance and concerned citizens aided the McCracken deputies at the scene.
