Three Paducah residents face shoplifting and other charges following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon conducted by detectives of the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Storm Team, according to sheriff's reports.
The sheriff's department received a call from a local business on Lone Oak Road at approximately 5 p.m. about three individuals allegedly shoplifting, reports indicate. The caller gave a description of the vehicle the three were seen in when fleeing the store and a traffic stop was subsequently conducted and Lone Oak Road and I-24.
After a search of the vehicle, the three occupants, Christopher F. Buntin, 43, Christy Buchanan, 51, and Mitchell White, 35, were arrested.
White was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence; and shoplifting (under $500).
Buchanan was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; shoplifting (under $500); and failure to notify the Department of Transporation of an address change.
Buntin was charged with shoplifting (under $500).
