The Paducah/McCracken County Senior Center will hold a free Senior Health & Fitness Expo from 8 - 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Robert Cherry Civic Center, 2701 Park Ave.

More than 30 local organizations are collaborating to offer free health screenings (e.g. vision, hearing, blood pressure, dental and glucose), resource informational booths, important information about Medicare-related issues, educational demonstrations, and healthy food.

The event also will feature fitness demonstrations including yoga, senior exercise, physical therapy and at-home therapy, as well as cooking demonstrations, safety lectures, disaster preparedness and more.

Everyone who participates is eligible to win prizes.

The health screenings and other activities are for senior adults 55-up. All elements of the expo are free.

This is the third year the expo collaboration is being held by the Paducah/McCracken County Senior Center and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Last year, almost 150 individuals participated in free health screenings.

The goal of the Senior Health & Fitness Expo is to provide a day of health and fitness activities while inspiring individuals, families, organizations and communities to focus on the physical and mental health and wellness of senior adults.
