Dr. Tammy Beckham, the director of the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will join physicians, community members, administrators and other stakeholders Wednesday morning in a roundtable discussion at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital to discuss strategies to collectively increase human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates in western Kentucky.
A native of Hopkinsville, Beckham will join Dr. Connie White, the senior deputy commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health, in leading the discussion, along with Rachael King, American Cancer Society Senior Director of Hospital Systems, and Dr. Miriam Slatter of Mercy Health-Lourdes.
The roundtable begins at 7:45 a.m. with registration and a breakfast, and the program begins at 8:50 a.m. and is expected to last to 11:30 a.m. It is being held at the Marshall Nemer Building's Borders Community Room.
