A Graves County woman died after a head-on collision along Irvin Cobb Drive on Monday afternoon.

Preliminary investigation showed that Alexandar Scott, 26, of Mayfield was driving east in the inside lane of the road, near Broad Street at 1:54 p.m. when he swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting another vehicle in the rear.

His pickup truck then collided head-on with a westbound SUV driven by Clarence Roddy, of Symsonia.

Both drivers and Roddy’s passenger, wife Florence, 76, were taken to Baptist Health Paducah. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

The investigation remains ongoing and the collision is being reconstructed by the Paducah Police Department’s team.
