A Paducah man was taken to a local hospital Sunday following a two-vehicle crash, McCracken County deputies said.
At about 12:29 a.m., deputies responded near Interstate 24 Exit 16 for reports of a collision between a Chevrolet Corvette and a Saturn.
Deputies said Cody Thompson, 25, of Paducah, was merging the Corvette onto I-24 westbound when he lost control of the car. The vehicle entered the grass median, stopping in the eastbound lanes under the Benton Road overpass.
Thompson then exited the vehicle, deputies said, as a Saturn approached. Driver Dustin Manley, 28, of Gilbertsville, swerved and avoided the car, but struck one of Thompson's legs in the process.
Thompson was taken to a local hospital. His passenger, Hayleigh Feagin, 24, of Murray, was uninjured. Manley and his passenger, Melanie Hodge, 28, of Marion, were not injured.
Meadow's Towing, Mercy Regional Ambulance, Paducah Police and Reidland-Farley Fire assisted McCracken deputies. I-24 was closed about an hour for investigation and cleanup.
