A Paducah man suffered serious injuries after the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and overturned along Ill. 148 on Friday afternoon, Illinois State Police reported.

Police said the driver, a 25-year-old whom they did not name pending notification of family, was headed north around 2:20 p.m. on Ill. 148, just north of Ogden Road in Williamson County. His 2014 Jeep Cherokee left the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne, and landed on its roof, coming to rest after striking a group of trees.

The driver was wearing a seat belt but sustained serious injuries, according to police, and was flown to an out of state hospital.
