Nice time on ice

Lydia Schnitzer, of Gilbertsville, guides her daughter Jamie McCarty, 4, across Murray's first ice-skating rink in the city's downtown Friday afternoon. The skating rink is just one facet of an event hosted by Murray Main Street and The Murray Bank that included a tree-lighting ceremony on the courthouse lawn, carriage rides, a candy cane scavenger hunt, and a petting zoo on Friday night. Holiday celebrations continue tonight with Christmas parades in Murray and Paducah's downtown.
