Mayor Brandi Harless returned late Tuesday from the International Economic Development Council's 2020 Leadership Summit in Tampa, Florida.
The leadership summit ran Sunday through Tuesday.
Harless represented Paducah by being invited to serve on a panel of speakers during a session titled, "Land, Money, and Politics: Collaborating with Existing and Newly Elected Officials." The panelists also included Joseph Neeb, city manager of Roswell, New Mexico, and economic development experts.
The session centered on elements of successful communities, which include a focus on results, a commitment to transparency and strategies for representing while engaging your entire community.
"I was proud to represent Paducah and our region at the Leadership Summit," Harless stated, in a news release. "There are so many great things to share about our community and the collaborations underway to improve the quality of life for our residents. I emphasized the importance of setting a goal, collaborating with partners, maintaining a learning mindset and holding each other accountable. We are seeing results here locally, and I was excited to share our progress."
