Mayfield woman faces drug charges

A Mayfield woman faces several drug-related charges after she was questioned in connection with an alleged domestic assault, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's reports indicate Mary Smith, 36, was initially questioned after she told a neighbor she had been beaten up by her boyfriend and the neighbor called the office. Smith told the deputy there had been an argument but no assault occurred.

During the investigation narcotics were found in Smith's possession, according to the deputy, and she was subsequently arrested for two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and possession/use of drug paraphernalia.
