A Mayfield woman was arrested Thursday on misdemeanor charges after she allegedly used a Kentucky State Police tipline to repeatedly report herself.
Keely Bennett, 20, is charged with 48 counts of falsely reporting an incident (Class A misdemeanor) and 48 counts of harassing communications (Class B misdemeanor).
She was booked into the Graves County Jail.
For over four months, Post 1 received numerous tips through KSP's "Text A Tip" tipline advising that Keely Bennett in Mayfield was either armed or dangerous, using and/or selling drugs, or a danger to herself or others, according to a state police news release.
State police began receiving these tips on Oct. 19 and continued to get them through Thursday.
Post 1 Sgt. Brett Miller and Detective John Sims of the Electronic Crimes Branch conducted an investigation and state police believe Bennett was the person reporting the tips.
Miller is continuing his investigation.
