A Marshall County man was charged Sunday in Murray after allegedly pulling a loaded gun on his ex-girlfriend.
Murray Police officers responded to a restaurant about 6:40 p.m. to meet with the woman reporting threats by her ex-boyfriend.
According to the arrest report, the victim told officers that she was threatened with a handgun by her ex-boyfriend, Billy J. Puckett, 38, of Benton. She said that he pulled out a handgun from the center console of the vehicle they were in, chambered a round and verbally threatened her. The woman was able to flee from the vehicle and hide until officers arrived. Puckett apparently left the scene.
After an investigation into the incident and after speaking with witnesses, an arrest warrant was obtained for Puckett, who was found by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. Puckett was arrested by Murray Police Department officers and charged with one count of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of third-degree terroristic threatening. He was brought to the Calloway County Jail, where he is being held on a $2,500 cash bond.
