The McCracken County Public Library has rescheduled its free, after-hours "Astronomy Walk" for Thursday, Aug. 8.

Dr. Victor Taveras, associate professor of physics and astronomy at West Kentucky Community and Technical College, will lead participants in a stargazing stroll from 9-10 p.m. outside the library in the garden.

Bobbie Wrinkle, adult programming and events coordinator, said the library postponed the program -- originally set for July 18 -- due to cloud coverage and excessive heat. Any schedule changes due to weather will be posted on the library's Facebook page, according to Wrinkle.

For those unable to attend, Taveras said he welcomes stargazing questions via email at victor.taveras@kctcs.edu.
