The manager and chief financial officer of a local motorcycle dealership faces a theft charge after the business accused her of stealing about $40,000.

Marie McGruder, 57, was arrested Monday, after the McCracken County Sheriff's Department began investigating her in December, at the behest of her employer, Four Rivers Harley-Davidson.

Deputies said the investigation showed McGruder had used company credit cards for personal use over the last two years. She used the cards for vacations, groceries, pet supplies, electronics and other items, and also used company credit cards assigned to other departments, Sgt. Benny Kauffman said.

McGruder faces a single count of theft by unlawful taking, over $10,000. Kaufmann did not specify McGruder's employment status.
