Gator removed from Kentucky Lake

This alligator was spotted by Marshall County lake visitors Saturday at Kentucky Lake near the paddleboat area close to Kentucky Dam. The alligator was later found near a road by a conservation officer with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife bearing injuries believed to have been sustained with a collision between the reptile and a boat. The animal later died from the injuries. Fish and Wildlife officers believe the alligator was dumped in the area and may have been someone’s pet as alligators are not native to the area. No other alligators are believed to be in the area.
