Gather Worship releases faith music

Ashley Gallo of West Paducah holds a CD of Gather Worship's new album, "Worship is Our Warfare," which hits iTunes on Saturday. Gallo contributed to the album and is part of Gather Worship, a local collective of worship leaders and musicians.

Gather Worship, a local collective of worship artists, will celebrate the release of its first album of faith-based music this weekend.

The collective includes Paducah native Jesse Grisham, Tony and Ashley Gallo of West Paducah and Justin and Vina Reed of Ledbetter.

The group's album "Worship is Our Warfare" hits iTunes at 6 p.m. Saturday, and people can also listen to it on streaming services, such as Spotify and Pandora.

"It's all original songs, so they're all written by people in the collective," Ashley Gallo said. "Gather is a group of worship leaders and musicians from the area with hearts set on worshipping Jesus together."

It took about two years to complete and features seven songs, including "Beyond the Waves" and "Kneel Complete," and multiple artists in the area.

It is produced by Grisham, who is a Nashville-based musician, songwriter and producer.

Ashley Gallo is a worship leader at Radiant Hope Ministries. She wrote songs and sang on the album. She described the titular track, "Worship is Our Warfare," as being a favorite.

"It's like a declaration over the enemy, that worship is my warfare, saying that fear has to bow," she said. "There's no room for doubt when you worship him, when you praise him. ... Some of them are declarations and some of them are things that He was speaking to us in that moment, and that's where some of the lyrics came from."

Gallo's friend, Vina Reed, is a co-leader at Radiant Hope Ministries and also picked that song as a favorite because it's upbeat and declarative.

"It's rocking," she said.

Reed said she's known the Gallos for years. They got together and wanted to do something different in the area, but not necessarily form a band.

An album release party is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Faith Center in Paducah, 4456 Hansen Road. CDs will be available for purchase.

"We're going to do some giveaways that night, so we'll give away some albums, some T-shirts, some bracelets, probably some iTunes gift cards," Ashley Gallo said. "We're going to sing the songs from the album, so everybody will get to hear those live for the first time."
