Expect driving near the Kentucky Oaks Mall to get a little more complicated.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced a planned five-week closure of U.S. 60 and its connecting ramps at the Interstate 24/U.S. 60 Paducah Exit 4 interchange starting July 8. The closure is part of the double crossover diamond interchange project.

Mainline I-24 traffic will remain open, but ramps and U.S. 60 under the interchange will close.

Traffic will be detoured to the I-24/Ky. 305 Paducah Exit 3 interchange. Traffic seeking to connect to businesses near the mall on the west side of the Exit 4 interchange will detour via Ky. 998/Olivet Church Road and New Holt Road to reconnect with U.S. 60.

U.S. 60 and ramps at the Exit 4 are required to reopen by Aug. 12, according to the transportation cabinet.
