Two local residents earned their degree from Western Governors University recently. The online, nonprofit university has graduated over 167,000 students from across the country since its inception in 1997. Those students are:
• Kimberly Bartley of Paducah, Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree.
• Matthew Kreutzer of West Paducah, Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree.
WGU has recognized 5,617 undergraduate and 4,302 graduate degree recipients, who have completed their degrees since October 2, 2019.

Christy Hart of Paducah made the dean's list for the fall 2019 semester at Mercy College of Ohio. She is seeking a bachelor of science in nursing degree. To be named on the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours.

Madelyn Kauffman, Jasmine Robinson and Tristen Sanders, all of Paducah, made the dean's list at Georgetown College for the fall 2019 semester.
To qualify, a student must have completed the semester with at least 12 credit hours and a minimum 3.7 grade-point average. A total of 282 students made the Dean's List for fall 2019.

Three area students made the dean's list at Samford University for the 2019 fall semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
Earning the honor were Blake Edmonson of Cadiz, Abigail Hawkins of Paducah and Kayli Leonard of Hickory.
