U.S. Forest Service officials reeopened a popular campground affected by recent storms Wednesday.

Trigg County's Energy Lake Campground experienced extensive damage due to high winds and a possible tornado during a June 21 storm.

Forest Service staff evacuated the near capacity campground as trees and debris fell over power lines and blocked roads. No injuries were reported though the campground required prolonged closure to deal with the aftermath.

Taylor Bay Campground and Star Camp remain closed as the Forest Service continues to remove debris and cut dangerous snagged trees.
