ELIZABETHTOWN -- Kentucky State Police opened a new facility to house one of its posts as well as a training facility.

Post 4's 61,754-square-foot campus opened Tuesday in Elizabethtown.

The facility also includes an evidence storage area that can be used by multiple posts, Col. Chad White said in a news release.

"We were able to utilize a building and land that was already owned by the Commonwealth and partnered with other state agencies to renovate the space in a cost-effective manner," White said.

Post 4 serves Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Jefferson, Larue, Meade and Nelson counties.
