Rev. Merle and Norma Gene Thomas

The Rev. and Mrs. Merle Thomas of Paducah will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a family luncheon today at Concord United Methodist Church. The couple requests no gifts. Cards and letters are welcome.

Mr. Thomas and the former Norma Gene Hall were married Aug. 19, 1948, at Clay City United Methodist Church in Clay City, Illinois.

Mrs. Thomas is a homemaker and the daughter of the late Clayton and Helen Hall.

Mr. Thomas is a retired minister for the United Methodist Church. He is the son of the late Delbert and Leona Thomas.

They are the parents of Mike Thomas of Kevil, Gary Thomas of Lovelaceville, Sandra Sebastian of Sadieville, Rodney Thomas of Burlington and the late Debbie Swafford. They have 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
