Home invasion suspect arrested following release from hospital

An additional arrest has been made in the Nov. 19 home invasion that occurred at a residence in Graves County.

According to Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden, an investigation following the incident indicated that two masked men, armed with rifles, forcibly entered a home at 561 Tom Drive. The resident of the home, reported to be Anthony Dominique Crittendon, 27, had reported that the two men were attempting to rob him of drugs and money. The two suspects also repeatedly assaulted him.

Crittendon was able to get to a semi-automatic pistol and began shooting at both of the suspects, hitting both multiple times. One of the suspects collapsed in the home while the second escaped to an awaiting vehicle outside.

Both of the suspects were later transported to area hospitals for treatment of their gunshot wounds.

Late Wednesday afternoon, one of the suspects was released from a hospital and was placed under arrest and served with outstanding arrest warrants related to this investigation.

Valdarious D. Starks, 22, of Clarksville Tennessee, was charged with first-degree burglary; first-degree robbery; second-degree assault; kidnapping; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Starks was taken to the Graves County Jail.

Crittendon was also arrested following the incident and charged with trafficking in marijuana over eight ounces with a firearm enhancement, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

This investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
