MAYFIELD -- With opening night on April 3, Trace Creek Baptist Church will begin the 21st season and see its 124th presentation of "The Promise - A Pageant on the Life of Jesus Christ."

Since 2000, the rural church has spent the Easter season preparing for and presenting the two-act musical, which has been viewed by thousands throughout the years. It takes a cast and crew of nearly 200 each year to portray the life of Christ from Old Testament prophecies through His resurrection and ascension.

"The Promise 2020" will be presented at 7 p.m. April 3 and 10; at 2 and 7 p.m. April 4 and 11; and at 6 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 12. Doors open one hour before start time.

There is no charge for admission. Reserved seating is available for groups of 20 at most performances, with the exceptions of April 10 and April 12. Group reservations can be secured by contacting the church office at 270-658-3304 or visiting
