The 36-member Association Free Lutheran Bible School Concert Choir will present a choral concert titled "Trusting in God's Faithfulness" beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, 3464 Old Marion Road, Metropolis, Ill.

Special services

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1213 Walter Jetton Blvd., will have their Sunday Night "Hour of Power" beginning at 6 p.m. Final 4 will be presented by Damedrix Thomas. The host pastor is the Rev. Michael J. Wade.

A deacon's program honoring Michael Thompson's 42 faithful years of serving as deacon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Guests will be the Rev. Wendell Gray and congregation of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Bardwell. Host pastor is the Rev. Donna Hawkins.

Holy Week Services

Trinity United Methodist Church will have special services throughout Holy Week, beginning Sunday, April 14. Palm Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. with a triumphant processional commemorating the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem, complete with palms. Maundy Thursday, April 18, service at 6:30 p.m. with a dramatic presentation of Jesus in the garden and a replication of the last supper and foot washing service and communion. Good Friday, April 19, walk the ridge of crosses to the hill or enter the sanctuary and use this time for prayer, meditation and reflection. Join us Easter Sunday, April 21, 10:30 a.m. as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. All services held on the campus located at 6125 Blandville Road at the flashing yellow light.

Easter Egg Hunts

Trinity United Methodist Church will hold its annual "The 'BIG' Hunt Event" on April 20 between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. More than 7,000 Easter eggs will be hidden on the hill below the crosses at the campus located at 6125 Blandville Road. This is a community event for children ages toddlers through 5th grade. Lunch free of charge and a short devotional is provided after the hunt. Age level areas will be marked for toddlers, preschool and kindergarten and elementary school age for safety in hunting.

There will also be a "GLOW IN THE DARK" Egg Hunt for community kids middle school grades 6th through high school in the evening during the hours of 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the same location. Refreshments will be offered after the hunt. For more information call the church office at 270-534-9516.

New Bethel Baptist Church will have its annual Easter Egg Hunt for children from birth to 5th grade on Saturday, April 20, starting at 11 a.m., on the church grounds. A light lunch will be served. Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Sisterhood, 1213 Walter Jetton Blvd., will be selling pig feet and chitterling dinners on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

The West Kentucky Christian Alliance will join with many area churches to celebrate the 40 Days Before Palm Sunday/Easter event. It is designed for prayer, fasting, revival and rededication of Christian lives. The WKCA's annual Spring/Easter Christian Festival is planned for April 13 at the Riverfront in Paducah. If case of inclement weather, an alternate location will be listed. Pam Tebow, mother of former NFL and current pro baseball player Tim Tebow, will be the featured speaker at First Baptist Church of Paducah's Spring Fling on April 12. Doors to the church's Great Room will open at 6 p.m., with a social hour with heavy appetizers. At 7 p.m. Kendra Robinson will lead the service before Pam Tebow takes the stage. "We Saw Him First" Women's Conference will be May 4 beginning at 9 a.m. at Woodlawn Church, 3402 Benton Road. Fee is $20 per person with registration deadline on April 14. Conference will feature Dereck Lee, comedian, actor, magician; Wanda Chase, pastor and founder of Back to Basic Outreach; and Ashlyn Kippert, associate pastor and founder of Stepping In Ministries. Kentucky Lake Cowboy Church will feature the movie "The Passion of the Christ" on its free movie night beginning at 6 p.m. April 14. The church meets at the Kentucky Opry, 68 Chilton Lane, off U.S. 641 near Draffenville. Free popcorn and drinks.

The Women's Ministry of Bellview Baptist Church will host a "Splash of Joy" beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 27 at the church located at 4875 Old Mayfield Road, at the intersection of Bleich and Old Mayfield roads in Paducah. Dinner starts at 5:30 and this year's guest speaker is Sheri Thrower, a multi-award winning music educator, whose children's choirs have also received awards and national recognition. She is also the author of the book "My Will Be Done." Tickets are $20 per person. Payment, along with the name of the person attending, must be remitted to Bellview Church by April 21. The "We Care Ministry" of Harrison Street Missionary Church will sponsor a free clothing giveaway on April 25 and April 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.

The Teen Challenge of West Kentucky will conduct an outreach session every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Community Fellowship Church in Hickory, located on U.S. 45.
