Metropolis' First United Methodist Church, 100 E. Fifth St., will open its doors Thursday to host the 26th annual American Cancer Society gospel benefit.
This year's concert will feature Greater Vision. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.
"This year will feature one of the most awarded groups in the history of gospel music," said Martha Bormann, concert coordinator. "Since 1990, Greater Vision has inspired audiences around the world. They have established a firm place in the world of Christian music."
The group has appeared regularly on the "In Touch" television program with Dr. Charles Stanley. Most recently, they have been on the Gaither Gospel Services.
More than 175 times every year, Greater Vision presents the gospel through music in a way that has endured them to audiences around the world.
Each year, the benefit concert in Metropolis is underwritten by many supporters and is free to those who attend.
"As always, 100% of the offering taken that evening funds cancer research," Bormann added.
All checks should be made to the American Cancer Society.
