Lourdes hospital received a national award for its “A Sacred Mission of Healing” ad campaign.
It received a gold award in The 2013 Aster Awards, a competition recognizing health care marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in advertising.
The competition allows health care organizations and advertising agencies to compete against similarly sized competitors from across the nation and world.
Lourdes’ television/video advertising series featured 100 of its associates carrying out Lourdes’ mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus.

Baptist Health Paducah received a national award for its “My Heart Belongs to Baptist” ad campaign.
It received a silver award in The 2013 Aster Awards, a competition recognizing health care marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in advertising. Entries from 2012 competed against similar-sized organizations in their category.
Baptist Health launched the campaign last summer. It included patients’ stories of loyalty, sharing how their “hearts” really do belong to Baptist Health.

Emergency department physician Dr. Gerald Russell joined the medical staff at Baptist Health Paducah.
He joins a medical staff of 265 physicians representing 43 medical specialties.
Russell, a graduate of Delta State University and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, has 24 years experience in emergency medicine. He returns to the Baptist team of emergency department physicians, following experience as the medical director of the Jackson Purchase Medical Center emergency department.

Baptist Health Paducah named Kal Keitel executive director of human resources. Keitel has served as the director of people services at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill., since 1987. Previously, he was employment manager at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisc., from 1981 to 1987.
He has extensive experience in talent management and acquisition, policy and procedure administration, employee and labor relations, workers’ compensation, employee development, and compensation.
Keitel earned a bachelor of business administration in human resources management from the University of Wisconsin.
He has served as a grand ambassador for the Effingham Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Central Illinois Healthcare Human Resources Association. He succeeds Don Brown, who is retiring after 23 years of service.

Lourdes promoted Zandra Farley to director of perioperative services. Farley has been with Lourdes for 22 years, during which she has held numerous positions, including surgical tech, officer manager for Regional Heart & Lung, and perioperative services manager.

Baptist Health Paducah certified pharmacy technician LaDon Gamblin retired after 46 years of service. Gamblin was the longest serving current employee with the hospital. She worked for every pharmacy director since the hospital was established.
