Lourdes’ Little Miracles Birthing Center received a $51,000 grant from IMPACT Lourdes to help further the hospital’s effort to provide a comfortable, home-like environment for new families.
Eight private suites will receive new decor, finishes and upgraded fixtures to enhance the rooms as families welcome their newest additions into their lives.
“Each delivery experience is unique for that new mom and family,” said Aimee Thompson, manager of the Maternal Child Unit. “It is our focus to ensure every patient feels special and their needs are met. Patients will feel more at home in the fresh, new rooms. This gift will help us deliver special care to our patients, improving their patient experience.”
IMPACT Lourdes is a special group designed for passionate, philanthropic women who pledge $1,000 over the course of a year. This year, IMPACT Lourdes introduced a junior membership, a pledge of $500 for women under the age of 40. The membership will make grants to the hospital through the Lourdes Foundation.
Members have a voice in selecting vital Lourdes projects which will receive funding from IMPACT Lourdes each year.
“IMPACT Lourdes is an opportunity for dedicated, generous women of our community to have a material collective impact on one of the most basic needs that we all have — quality, accessible health care,” said Tara Miller, vice president and chief philanthropy officer. “We are humbled by our IMPACT Lourdes members.”
