Family medicine physician Dr. Jonathan Walters joined the medical staff at Western Baptist Hospital.

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Evansville, Walters earned a master’s degree in biology at Western Kentucky University and a medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a residency in family medicine at Deaconess in Evansville, Ill.

Walters is accepting new patients at Four Rivers Internal Medicine, 3131 Parisa Dr. in Paducah. The office phone is 270-444-8302.

Paducah obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Bradley W. Housman, will become Western Baptist Hospital’s vice president and chief medical officer on Oct. 29. He succeeds Dr. Patrick Withrow who recently retired.

“We are pleased to have a local physician with Dr. Housman’s leadership experience join our team,” said Larry Barton, president and CEO. “He has shown tremendous ability in working with all of our medical staff in a variety of positions focused on quality and technology.”

Housman’s leadership and advisory roles at the hospital have included chairman of the OB/GYN department and physician champion of the computerized provider order entry team. He currently is chief of staff, a position that will be filled by radiation oncologist Dr. Peter Locken.

Housman has been on Western Baptist’s medical staff since 2000, when he joined a local practice with his father, Dr. Lloyd Housman, now retired, and Dr. Dennis Owens.

A Paducah native, he is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

He completed his internship at East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C., and his residency at the University of Kentucky. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Frank Hideg was honored at the 96th annual convention of the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors when he was presented the Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hideg, a 1967 graduate of Lincoln College of Chiropractic, has practiced in Paducah for the past 45 years. Additionally, Hideg has been a member of the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors for the past 44 years.

A certified chiropractic orthopedist, Hideg has served on the Board of Regents and President Council for the New York Chiropractic College. He is a fellow with the International College of Chiropractic and received the Distinguished Service Award from National College in 1994.

Hideg was elected as director on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and continued in that position from 1978 to 2007. While serving on the National Board, he was chairman of both the Clinical Competency Committee and the Boundaries and Ethics Committee. He served on the Executive Committee from 1981-2007, holding various positions including president in 1978 and Chairman of the Board from 1999-2007.

Gregory Kingston has been named the new Director of Emergency Services at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, replacing Jeanne Mathis, who retired earlier this year.

Kingston has worked in the medical field for more than 25 years in various capacities. Most recently, he was an APRN at Advance Correctional Healthcare and at Lourdes hospital.

Prior to that, Kingston was the Director of mid level providers/APRN at Jackson Purchase ER Physicians; a Family Nurse Practitioner at Marshall County Family Medical; an RN at Western Baptist and Lourdes hospitals; and a Clinical Nursing Instructor at Shawnee Community  College in Ullin, Ill.

Kingston earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Murray State University in 1989, and in 1997 he earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

He holds certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care Registered Nurse, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.

Lourdes welcomed Dr. R. Scott Wilson to its medical staff. Wilson earned his undergraduate degree at Freed-Hardeman University and Heritage Christian University, and earned a post graduate degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He graduated from Saba University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Jim Woods was recognized in the Orthopedic Products Magazine’s August edition as a Best of 2012 Orthodontist. This is an annual profile of top orthodontists. Woods is a 1975 graduate of the University of Kentucky.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1978 from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, and his master’s in orthodontics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1980.

Woods owns Bluegrass Orthodontics and has maintained a private orthodontic practice in Paducah since 1980.

Dave Anderson was appointed to be the chief executive officer of Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, effective Nov. 26.

Anderson replaces Jerry Dooley, who will continue his tenure with LifePoint Hospitals as an interim hospital administrator.

Anderson comes to JPMC from Ennis, Texas, where he served as CEO of Ennis Regional Medical Center, another LifePoint Hospital, since 2007. Before that position, Anderson worked at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Ga., where he was chief operating officer from 2005 to 2007, and was interim CEO in 2006.

Anderson earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baylor University.

Mercy Medical Associates, Lourdes’ employed physician practice, welcomed Dr. J. Thomas Logsdon to its medical staff.

Dr. Robert S. Howard joined the Kelley Psychiatric Clinic in Paducah at 6025 Kentucky Dam Road. A Murray native, Howard graduated from Murray High School and is a cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University.

He attended graduate school at Harvard University and earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Howard is the son of the late Dr. Russell E.P. Howard, a cardiologist in Murray.
